Welcome to the newly-chartered Texas Space Center Section of the Society of Women Engineers! I’d like to share a little background information about how TSC SWE got its start, and our activities since our inception. We started out as a women engineer’s luncheon group in August, 2003. By October of 2003, the response to our luncheons was so strong that we decided we wanted to be more than just a social club – we wanted to form a local SWE section. Since then, our volunteerism and comradery have been phenomenal. So far, we have hosted two holiday parties to introduce high school girls to engineering, participated in activities with the University of Houston, such as GRADE camp and Engineering Science and Technology day, and held numerous social events. At the SWE National Conference in October of 2004, we were officially granted our charter, and we want to welcome all our new members.
