It Started Over Lunch...
Chartered in October 2004, we started out as a women engineers' luncheon group in August of 2003 constituted almost completely of NASA-JSC contractors and civil servants. By October 2003, the response to our luncheons was so strong and varied that we decided we wanted to be more than just a social club, we wanted to get organized, become active in the community, and form a local SWE section. Since then, our volunteerism and camaraderie have been building steadily. Our annual winter holiday outreach introduces local high school girls, their parents and guidance counselors to engineering; professional development sessions offer participants opportunities for growth; and the monthly brunches and social hours provide sources of networking and collaboration. With the variety of technical industries in our area, including energy, chemical, civil, and aerospace, the future of SWE-TSC is bright. We welcome you to join us in our activities, share your ideas, and propel us forward.
