Encourage girls to pursue a career in engineering through CSRA SWE's outreach programs and alliance with Introduce A Girl (IAG).

SWE consists of nearly 100 professional sections, 300 student sections, and members-at-large in all engineering and technology disciplines, making SWE a preeminent not-for-profit organization respected among the engineering community and technical societies.

Mission Statement of the Society

The Society of Women Engineers stimulates women to achieve full potential in careers as engineers and leaders, expands the image of the engineering profession as a positive force in the quality of life, and demonstrates the value of diversity.

Objectives of the Society
  • Inform young women, their parents, counselors and the general public of the qualifications and achievements of women engineers and the opportunities open to them.
  • Assist women in readying themselves for a return to active work after temporary retirement.
  • Serve as a center for information on women in engineering.
  • Encourage women engineers to attain high levels of educational and professional achievement.
SWE Strategic Priorities
  • SWE will provide opportunities for women to attain, enhance, and demonstrate leadership, professional, and technical excellence that results in career aspiration, advancement, achievement, and satisfaction.
  • SWE will embrace and promote the value and power of diversity in specialties, age, race, ethnicity, language, gender identity, sexual orientation, and interests.
  • SWE will share its acquired knowledge and promote programs that bridge the gaps in recruitment, professional development, and retention of women in engineering.

SWE membership provides the vehicle for your to give back to the community through outreach programs that encourage young gilrs to find and follow their dreams as future engineers. SWE's K-12 initiatives motivate students to belive in their math and science skills, and expose engineering as a meaningful and rewarding career choice for women.

SWE provides the programs and communities that address issues ranging from leadership training to management tools to networking events to work/life balance workshops.
