Thank you for those of you that came to Miami! It was a very successful conference.

Many of you approached me with different questions, and I just wanted to make sure that you don't forget to e-mail me!


Minutes from the collegiate meeting will be posted in a few days when I get them from the Region Secretary.

 

2. Section Bylaws

Your bylaws NEED to be updated. Only 5 sections have even started this process. If you do not START this process by the end of 2008 there could be several consequences, including the witholding of your section's rebate check!

I will be holding 2 conference calls to discuss what you need to do.

3. SWE Future Leaders (SWEFL's)

Each year, SWE Headquarters seeks out up-and-coming members of the society. Do you have a SWEFL in your section? SWEFLs are younger membrs (typicall freshman, sometimes sophomores) who show the potential to be a true leader with the society.

SWEFLs will be recognized and utilized throughout the year for their opinions of society happenings. They will get an all-expense-paid trip to the CLF (Collegiate Leadership Forum), the same conference where RCRs and RCNEs recieve their training. CLF will take place August 1st and 2nd, 2008.

If you have a potential SWEFL in your section please e-mail me their name. Members will be contacted if they are selected.
 

4. Awards Conference Call

The Awards and Recognition Committee will be hosting “Applying for Individual Awards” Training Presentation. This training presentation has been designed to assist you with the nomination process for the 2008 Individual Awards and provide you an opportunity to ask questions to the presenter, Annmarie Connor, Chair of the Awards and Recognition Committee.

5. Interested in hosting 2010 Region D Conference?

There is a ton of information about how to bid in our Links and Documents site. Bids are due to the region governor by 30 days prior to National Conference.

6. Upcoming Reports Due

April 15: Quarterly Report due to rcr-d@swe.org

June 30: Annual Report and Financial Report due

     Can be found on the www.swe.org website (must log in!).
