We plan to provide the participants with numerous events that can enhance their engineering careers, and exceptional entertainment solely unique to the Central Florida area. With prominent engineering industries all around, such as NASA, Boeing, Harris Corporation and Walt Disney World, the Central Florida area is a very promising hotspot for upcoming and experienced engineers. We plan to give the participants a chance to represent themselves to these industrial leaders at the heart of where it all happens, the University of Central Florida. Our section also had the privilege of hosting the Region D Conference in 2001, and we hope to use that experience as an effective guideline for an even better conference. 2006 Region D Conference Description As a theme for our conference, we would like to emphasize the international scope of engineering. The diversity of engineering is not only shown in the different professions, but also in the rich cultural backgrounds within these professions; and, we would like to acknowledge this. To complete such an objective, we will host such workshops as Famous Female Engineers from Around the World to recognize the many ethnic backgrounds of our leading ladies, Ancient Engineering to learn about many of the engineering wonders around the world, Travel Etiquette for our traveling business women, Multicultural Dancing from one of our very own section officers, and many more. The 2006 Region D Conference will take place from Friday, March 10th, to Sunday, March 12th, at the University of Central Florida and other great locations in Orlando. The first day will commence with industry tours and a welcome reception. The second day will begin with a continental breakfast, professional, vitality, and theme-related workshops, and a career fair. Workshops will run from 9am to 4pm and be conveniently located inside classrooms and lecture halls in our newly added Engineering II Building, and the career fair will take place from 9am to 2pm in the main lobby of the same building (Engineering II Atrium). The second day will then wrap up with a banquet dinner, which will include a variety of ethnic dishes and a fashion show to further highlight our theme. The conference will conclude on the third day with a farewell breakfast and award ceremony. Incentives The University of Central Florida plans to provide participants of the conference with an innovative and entertaining experience with the following incentives: A welcome ceremony at Walt Disney Worlds EPCOT Center. An unforgettable finale at the Orlando Science Center. Tours of Kennedy Space Center, behind the scenes at Walt Disney World, and the University of Central Florida with some shopping at the nearby Winter Park Village. Numerous attractions to attend aside from the conference such as Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, and Sea World. Lodging less than 3 miles from the conference. Orlando International Airport located about 20 minutes from the conference. Catering supplied by UCFs Student Union, Walt Disney Worlds EPCOT center, and other outside vendors. Budget/Cost We would like to provide the following as tentative costs for the 2006 Regional Conference: Registration $40 Students $80 Professionals Transportation Before & After Conference participants are responsible for their own transportation to and from their hotel. During Conference shuttle services will be provided for all tours and events within the conference, and to and from the host hotels to the university. Lodging Ramada Inn rates starting at $49/night Days Inn rates starting at $60/night Currently researching discounted rates for conference Resources With the confirmed support from the Central Florida SWE Professional section and our College of Engineering faculty, we are greatly anticipating the opportunity to host this conference. We are also seeking corporate sponsorships from local businesses for additional assistance. Conclusion The members of the UCF SWE section are excited about the prospect of hosting the 2006 Region D Conference. With previous knowledge already attained from hosting the conference in 2001, we are prepared to deliver a successful event for our region. Thank you for your consideration. <>ko " 1=_løjk<CJUaJjG<CJUaJjT<CJUaJj<CJUaJj<CJUaJH*>*5jUmHnHu!;<jk 01=>N & F$`a$$a$$a$}_`lm xBi$a$ & F$a$ & F$a$ 1h/ =!"#$%n: 4%.'$PNG IHDRUWBcPLTEͱ\KקǕ{ӎS٭"ӯ40wȌ=hu4hžR,cdtХDඒnϝqʜޒ-кxu5ѿ}[{"bBxi @tRNS{DbKGD?>c0u cmPPJCmp0712Hs IDATXGiwJdA8"œ[d4~^MZkSU /#ЗSPgyZ_6ׄ,"cyQ8Ҙ_3TIʲB9tkoAnE),Ǻ?pbJ(c+z|J)poq,`*DUl+hY*[{]l-} q*VnL~E,94cRYVJU? mhM̄3U2d f2|֪ ^'LP?4n.VSX6eP(aR%CY/ZC&W8'_w O"% (7̜_'%Yk 0 bFW=yRd-Jm׾S'lբ%#l-~=I4VUw0e|Oi%;EQILi>9?:oQa̍ePv[<݇WG'{vm],ݸqVԤmg jTO?Sgyɍ.ȵC.ȎvfP NeekLJH)?$]IRmc9ըjk[nr<1sɁRXkگq@zM}sfd),k" Haiڐ.Y`w@Vh>{+ŨDp {&Zr-aNAw.
