Austin Energy Regional Science Festival
The Austin Energy Regional Science Festival encourages and rewards innovative student research. It also provides scientists, engineers, and other professionals a chance to volunteer in the community.
A huge thanks to all who helped with the science festival effort this year. This year we awarded a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd for grade level 1 through 6 of the Primary Division with a physical prize for the 1st place in each grade. The primary judging team included Jennifer Vargus, her husband, two friends of theirs, Socorro Miller, Shelley Stracener, Marsha Harrison, Peggy and Ty Parcher.
Because of its long history of heavy participation, this organization is perfectly positioned to capitalize on the outreach exposure this event provides. We therefore look forward to this opportunity again in 2010. Hope you will join us next year if you are not already on our team.
We had a great team working at our booth this year - thank you again to all who volunteered for working at such a great opportunity to interact with lots of young students who have yet to make up their minds where exactly they want their future to take them.
