Environmental Engineering
Environmental engineering is a fast growing field. With the increased awareness of the environment and our effect on it, environmental engineers are needed in almost any industry. Current environmental regulations give industries an incentive to be concerned with the environment and how they impact it. In large industries, environmental engineers help companies meet governmental laws to protect the environment. Environmental engineers might also work for cities in planning their waste management which includes sewage, garbage collection disposal, recycling and drinking water systems.
At some colleges, the environmental program is included in the civil engineering department.
