OUR YOUTH’S INTEREST IN SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING AND MATH |

|
The
Collaboration with SWE chapters of GNO, Tulane and
LSU distributing gum drops and toothpicks for the girl scouts of ages 5-12 to
construct gum-drop domes.
Collaboration with LSU SWE chapter and ULL MAL to
distribute college engineering FAQs and SWE
scholarship information.
"SWEet Success"
– SWE’s show and tell display of the sugarcane
process engineering from the fields to the kitchen table.
This marks SWE’s second
year of E-week collaborations with Shaw Group to bring in high school girls
from around the Baton Rouge Metro area and to introduce them to the various engineering
disciplines to consider for college. SWE’s role is
to raise more awareness of its mission and objectives as a non-profit
educational and service organization that would empower them to succeed and
advance in the fields of engineering, and to be recognized for their
life-changing contributions as engineers and leaders. |
