Summary and Principal Area of Responsibility: Develops and implements optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. Recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods and controls. Coordinates manufacturing launch for new or revised products. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes the following; other duties may be assigned): • Performs research, design and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment. • Performs product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency. • Respond to manufacturing problems in a timely manner to maintain and support production. • Evaluate effectiveness of tooling and equipment used to manufacture current products and make recommendations for improvement. • Provide technical support to manufacturing personnel to solve daily problems and establish safeguards to minimize their occurrence. • Provide assistance and technical support to Product Development Engineering on various projects. • Provide technical support on processing and process capabilities to Customer Service, Sales and Quality Assurance. • Represents manufacturing on cross-functional teams. • Be able to think ahead and plan over a 3-6 month time span and the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities. • Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates.
