We have an exciting opportunities at our MA facility. 1) We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer - Design at our Devens, MA facility In this key role you will perform mechanical design analysis and produce detail drawings for product development in a multi-functional team environment. Position involves interaction with internal groups and customers to design aerospace mechanical components. Breadth of project engineering responsibility includes multiple projects from concept to production including contract administration and customer contact. Some travel (possible international) is required. The successful candidate will have a result driven attitude and commitment to the assigned program objectives. Position requirements include BS in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 3-7 years experience in the design and analysis of mechanical components including CAD/3D modeling. Prior experience with rotary fluid transfer devices and familiarity with gas turbine engine components or gearbox design and hydraulic, and fuel and lubrication system on aircraft is required. 2) We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer - Electrical at our Devens, MA facility Nichols Airborne is leading the way in developing electronically controlled smart pumps for aerospace and other demanding markets. The key to making a smart pump is the electronic controller. We use a variety of motor control technologies depending on the demands of the application. The Project Engineer - Electrical will oversee the design and development of brushless DC motor controllers for the most advanced military and commercial aircraft systems. The successful candidate will interact with internal groups, suppliers, and customers in a collaborative environment to develop integrated, high performance pumping and control systems. Responsibilities include: • Support development of technical and cost proposals with data and preliminary designs, cost estimates and documentation in response to customers’ RFI or RFP. • Provide primary circuit design and analysis for motor drive and control electronics • Coordinate and review design and analysis work provided by suppliers • Technical responsibility for design planning, organizing, and managing technical projects and activities related to development of new or improved products. • Conduct failure and root cause analysis of electronic and electromechanical assemblies and recommend corrective action • Coordinate analysis, test, and debugging of electronic assemblies • Read, interpret and analyze complex electronic schematics BSEE required, 8+ years experience preferred. Familiarity with aerospace systems is a plus. Analog as well as digital electronic design, power electronics, electromechanical or motor control experience as well as product development experience is highly desirable. Some travel required. 3) We have an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Quality Engineer at our Devens, MA facility. In this key role you will develop, modify, apply, and maintain quality standards and evaluation methods for products and processes. You will provide moderately complex statistical information for quality improvement by determining and applying testing methods and criteria. In this challenging position you will also have the opportunity to act upon that information to improve manufacturing processes, procedures, and data collection methods. You will coordinate and guide technical evaluations, analysis, and related data acquisition processes to ensure division quality objectives are achieved. Position requirements include BS in Engineering or related technical discipline. Minimum of 3-5 years experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in aerospace machining. Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple priorities using effective problem solving/resolution skills and a team focus. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Some travel required. 4) We have an exciting opportunity for a Technology Team Leader at our Devens, MA facility Some of the responsibilities are to: • Define projects and specific out measures for a major engineering unit. • Coordinate the technical efforts of one or more teams. • Act as an advisor to division staff to resolve engineering and operational problems. • Establish and priorities multiple projects. • Direct cross-functional and centralized engineering projects. • Provide frequent interface with several customer contracts and across internal teams concerning project design, identifiable impact on program cost, quality, and schedule commitments. • Represent the organization as technical liaison in providing solutions to problems associated with projects. Position requirements include a BSEE or BSME as well as familiarity with Aerospace systems. Prior electro mechanical or motor control experience and product development is desirable. Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through 10 plus years experience in design, development, and qualifications of aircraft components or systems as well as experience in managing engineers. The successful candidate will have strong cross-functional communication skills along with a results driven attitude and commitment to the assigned program objectives.
