September 2008- SWE Officers Meeting Notes

Attending: Marilyn, Sue Wen, Leslie, Elizabeth G, Nadine, Elizabeth R

Leslie- will attend the regional ABJ meeting

Leslie- has been in touch with Joy (the regional training rep) and will talk about training for our group.

October Activities:

-Color Me Mine (on Foothill), on the 1^st Sunday in October

-Ice Cream Social in Provo on 10/24. Can coordinate carpool.

-Clark Planetarium for a November activity

-NASA Presentation

-Monday, October 20^th Officers’ meeting at Rocky Mountain Pizza

December Activity- look at doing Sub For Santa families and go back to someone’s house to wrap presents.

-Note: Lofthouse Cookie no longer gives tours.

UEC- Utah Engineering Council and Journal:

-Journal article has to be in by mid-December.

-It costs $84.50 to sit on council. Their meetings are the first Wednesday of every month at noon. Marilyn will attend meetings starting in October.

-UEC Banquet will be Feb. 13^th at the Wells Fargo Building.

Newsletter- Need to use gslswe@yahoo.com email to send out newsletter to mailing list.

Action Items:

-Liz: Email pdf of newsletter to group via SWE yahoo account. Ask members to reply to Liz to find out if members are getting the newsletter.

-Marilyn: Will call Color Me Mine and Rocky Mountain Pizza to see if they are open on Sunday.

-Elizabeth G: Will look at movies at IMAX and NASA presentation

-Leslie: Will confirm with BYU group that they would come to ice cream social on October 24^th

- Leslie: Will get scholarship update from Chiao-ih and get deadlines to students at universities

-Liz: will check gslswe@yahoo.com email regularly

-Liz: Newsletter- If need to carpool to starparty, send request to gslswe@yahoo.com. Also, request members send suggestions for activities to gslswe@yahoo.com
