President Inuka Renstrom Inuka has been involved with SWE since 1997, first as a student and then as a professional. She served as SWE Tucson Vice President for the first half of FY 06-07 and assumed the duties of President for the second half of FY 06-07. She grew up in MD and holds a BS & PhD in Chemical Engineering. She moved to Tucson 2yrs ago to work for Raytheon.
Vice President Illya Ninichuck Illya was SWE President for the University of San Diego from 1996-1999 and enjoyed the opportunity it gave her to interact with the community and network in her field. After joining the workforce she got consumed in her work and lost touch, though it always hovered in the back of her mind as being a nourishing outlet. This past November she decided to attend the SWE National Conference and reconnect. It was an even better experience than she had remembered and she immediately got engaged with the local chapter.
Secretary Sarah Hancock Sarah is originally from Los Alamitos, California, and attended Georgia Tech for both her BS and MS in Electrical Engineering. She moved to Tucson in June 2006 and works for Rincon Research Corporation. She was involved in SWE at Georgia Tech and is serving her third term as SWE Tucson Secretary.
Treasurer Stacey James A native Arizonan, Stacey earned her BS degree in Systems Engineering from the University of Arizona in Tucson in 1994. She has been active in the Tucson SWE Section for over 10 years, and is a SWE Life Member. She has been employed with Raytheon as a Software Engineer for 11 years and is a critical part of her team. As an active member of SWE Tucson she has held many officer positions, including President, VP, and Section Rep. She has also been the primary organizer of the Arizona Student Solar Competition for over 8 years, and the UA SWE Counselor for the last several years.
Section Rep Mary Mahler Mary grew up in a small town in Missouri. She has a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla, a M.S. in Aeronautical Engineering from Georgia Tech, a M.S. in Engineering Management from Cal Tech and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from UCLA. She worked on various aircraft at Northrop Grumman in El Segundo for many years moving to Raytheon Missile Systems in Tucson in 2003. She has held SWE positions on the Section (LA and Tucson) and Region level. Outside of work, she enjoys scuba diving, spending time at the ocean and with her family and hiking/biking.
Outside Organization Liaison Maeve O'Brien  
University of Arizona Counselor Amarie Whetten Amarie Whetten graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 1996 with a B.S. in Chemical Engineer. She completed her MBA from Colorado State University, Fort Collins in 2000. She spent 10 years with Hewlett-Packard and then HP’s 2000 spin-off test and measurement company, Agilent Technologies in the semiconductors business working on high-end Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC). Amarie chaired the Agilent Technologies’ Women’s Network for Northern Colorado, which provides career development opportunities and focuses on employee retention for women professionals in the region.

She started at RMS on 9/11/06. She became interested in Raytheon through a SWE colleague at a leadership training program at Smith College in 2005. She is currently working as a senior engineer in Mission Assurance at the Tucson Airport site and holds a chair position on the Raytheon Women’s Network board.

She is a regular attendee of the SWE National Conferences and has continuous involvement on hiring and retention teams focusing on female engineers.
