AERODYNAMICS OF CYCLING

OBJECTIVES: Students learn: about aerodynamic forces - lift and drag; how those forces affect cycling performance (speed); how those forces are calculated; the design of cycling helmets for optimum performance. NATIONAL SCIENCE STANDARDS: Physical Science: Motions And Forces Science And Technology Standard: Abilities Of Technological Design Understanding About Science And Technology STANDARDS FOR TECHNOLOGY LITERACY: The Nature of Technology: Students will develop an understanding of the characteristics and scope of technology.
