MECHANICAL ENGINEER

ITW Switches, a Division of Illinois Tool Works Inc., a Fortune 200 Company located in Buffalo Grove, has an immediate opportunity in our Engineering Department.
We are looking for an individual with experience in electromechanical switch design. The applicant must be a hands-on engineer with a high degree of mechanical aptitude experienced in designing components and assemblies. Ideal candidate would be a highly creative designer and problem solver with a strong foundation in mechanical engineering and design for manufacturability.
Qualifications include a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and practical working experience with plastics, metals, adhesives, and related assembly methods. This position requires a broad knowledge of engineering principles, 3-10 years experience preferably with electromechanical component manufacturer, expertise in ProE or SolidWorks , excellent communication, interpersonal and team building skills. Candidate will be expected to work in a multi-discipline engineering team on a daily basis. Cost estimation and technical support will be part of daily activities. Experience interacting with customers and supplier on technical issues is a plus. Knowledge of ISO quality methods, UL and CE requirements also a plus.
