Upcoming Events
- The Central Florida
Professional Section of the SWE is planning the first annual “Seminole County SWE Day” event. This
event will be held at Lyman High School in Seminole County
(865 S. Ronald Reagan Blvd.,
Longwood, FL)
on December 4, 2009 from 9:30 AM – 1:30 PM. This outreach event is
designed to peak the interest of high school girls in engineering and
computer science. SWE’s goal is to excite high and middle school
aged girls about engineering and computer science through informative
speakers. Speakers’ series representing a day in the life of a
real engineer will volunteer during this event to engage these young
girls to science and engineering educational fields. This
event will also include several professional company displays showing
environmental; industrial; biomedical; academia; and civil engineering
applications. We need volunteer speakers; company displays;
and prizes for the essay winners. If you are interested in
volunteering, contact central.florida@swe.org by November 18th.

Volunteers Needed
- A volunteer is needed for the following position: Meeting
Coordinator. This volunteer works with the Executive Board to select and
reserve monthly meeting and banquet locations. They will assist speaker in setting up
AV equipment and distributing handouts.
Expect to spend up to 4 hours a month including attending the
monthly meetings. Please contact

- Habitat
Orlando Women Build Week 2010 will be held May 3-9, 2010. The home being
constructed is for a 4 bedroom single family home for a single mom of 5
children. Volunteers will be needed. More information will be posted soon!

Florida's Engineering Week Awards Banquet!
