Responsibilities of the Executive Council

 

President:

  • Be the authorized leader of the Section.
  • Represent the Section before the public.
  • Preside at all meetings of the Section and the Executive Council.
  • Appoint the chairs of all committees, with the approval of the Executive Council, except the Chair of the Nominating Committee, who shall be appointed by the Executive Council.
  • Authorize the signing of checks by the Treasurer.
  • Assume all other executive duties not otherwise delegated.
  • Coordinate all activities and execute the business and policies of the Section between meetings.
  • Manage the Section strategic planning meetings.
  • Set and maintain the quality of the Section.
  • Oversees the Board of Trustees and Chair of Member Initiatives.


Vice President:

  • Perform all duties of the President in her/his absence or at her/his request.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Executive Council.
  • Assist in managing the Section strategic planning meetings.
  • Perform all necessary functions to help the Section grow.
  • Oversees the Chair of Education and Chair of Professional Development.


Treasurer:

  • Be responsible for the collection, safekeeping and distribution of all section funds.
  • Sign checks for the section as authorized by the President.
  • Prepare, maintain and report as directed on the financial position of the Section in relation to the approved budget.
  • Keep an exact account of all receipts and expenditures for submission to the Society Treasurer at the end of each fiscal year.
  • Serves on the Board of Trustees.
  • Oversees the Grant Coordinator and Sponshorship Coordinator.


Secretary:

  • Record, prepare, maintain and distribute as directed the minutes of each meeting of the Section and or the Executive Council.
  • Carry on the Section correspondence as requested by the president or the Executive Council.
  • Notify Executive Council members of Executive Council meetings, notify members of membership meetings, and send out ballots for elections and other official business.
  • Maintain a file with a copy of all mail sent out in the name of the Section.
  • Maintain attendance metrics for all meetings and events.
  • Oversees the Chair of Diversity & Inclusion.


Section Representative:

  • Act as the Official contact between the Council of Representatives and the Section.
  • Vote for Section on all matters before the Council of Representatives.
  • When possible, assure that she or authorized alternate(s) represent(s) the Section at the meeting(s) of the Council of Representatives and at all Region Meetings.
  • Report to the Section on matters reported by the Board of Directors, Council of Representatives, and Region meetings.
  • Recruit National Representatives to speak to our Section.
  • Prepare and submit reports of Section activities as requested by the Region Governor.
  • Manage the section's strategic plan to ensure that objectives are set and executed throughout the year. Deliver strategic plan and goals to the Region Governor.
  • Oversees the Bylaws Coordinator.
