Central Florida Board of Trustees



1. Lisa Bird

Lisa Bird is an Electronic Engineer with the U.S. Army Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training, and Instrumentation.  She is assigned to Close Combat Tactical Training where she works on acquisitions and does project engineering.  Prior to working for the Army, the emphasis in Lisa's career was the development of advanced technologies, most notably for the Space Shuttle Program.

Lisa has a Bachelor of Science degree in Textile Science from Kansas State University, a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Central Florida, and a Master's degree in Business Administration from the Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins College.

Lisa is a charter member of the Central Florida Section and is a Life Fellow member of SWE.  She has served the Society in a variety of
offices both local and national.

2. Harmony Myers

Harmony Myers is a Reliability & Safety Engineering Supervisor for NASA. Her group works with a multi-discipline team to ensure the safety requirements for the space shuttle ground support systems are met as well as safety requirements and analysis for the Constellation Program. Prior to working for NASA, Harmony worked for five years for United Space Alliance, the main contract for the Space Shuttle program, as a Design Engineer and a Reliability Engineer.

Harmony has her Bachelor of Science from University of Central Florida in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Science from University of Miami in Industrial Engineering. Harmony has been a member of SWE since 1998 and has served in various positions including Section President and Region Governor. She currently serves as the 2010 National Conference Local Host Committee Chair and as one of the Central Florida Board of Trustees.

3. Jean Hill

Jean Hill is a NASA Safety and Reliability Engineer at Kennedy Space Center (KSC) where she is the point of contact for safety variances to NASA-wide standards and KSC-wide requirements documents. Ms. Hill also performs and reviews analyses on Explosive, Pyrotechnic, and Hypergolic Propellant Systems for the Space Shuttle, Ares I-X, and Constellation Programs. In her 12-year engineering career, Jean has also performed analyses for various missions, including the International Space Station, Hubble Space Telescope, and the Chandra X-Ray Telescope. She has also performed analyses for Laser Safety and Reliability Engineering on various ground and air combat weapons. Jean is currently serving in her second term as Central Florida SWE's Membership Initiatives Director where she is responsible for both Membership and Awards. Being a firm believer in education and educational outreach opportunities for students of all ages, Jean freely volunteers her time to SWE, AIAA, FIRST Robotics, and NASA Speakers Bureau outreach events. Ms. Hill earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Physics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and her Master of Engineering degree in Space Operations from the University of Colorado.

Responsibilities:

  • To manage the financial investing of the trust account

 

  • To withdraw money once a year from the account for the scholarship fund as decided by the Executive Board and concurred by the Board of Trustees
