Welcome to Region J!

The Northwest Star Region

Alaska Idaho Montana Oregon Washington

Mission Statement:

To support the National goals of stimulating women to achieve full potential in careers as engineers and leaders, expanding the image of the engineering profession as a positive force in improving the quality of life, and demonstrating the value of diversity in our Region.

Region J is off to a good start in FY08.  All sections have been planning activities for the year, and transition to new officers is almost completed. The region conducted an orientation specifically for understanding reporting requirements, with all sections participating in this orientation.  As a result, there is cognizance across the region for implementing succession planning and updating the section bylaws.  All sections have officers elected or in the process of election, so we will have a full region council for the first time in several years.  Region conferences planning has started and we are using the lessons learned from the past conferences; the theme this year is environmental challenges.  We are already receiving inquiries from companies in the region interested in participating!  The sections are planning outreach, professional development, and cultural activities through the year, repeating successful program and developing new events.
