SWE Outreach Activites

SWE/Girl Scouts Mentoring Program - STEM Special Interest Group
After months of planning, we are excited to officially kick off the SWE-Girl Scouts Mentoring Program. If you are interested in participating or have any questions, please contact Jessica Begay.

We are targeting for the STEM Special Interest Group to meet once per month, beginning in November, and concluding in May (7 sessions total). We would ideally like 2 volunteers per session, so a total of 14, unless someone is interested in leading more than 1 session. Exact meeting times and locations will be confirmed by the end of September. Our goal is to have all of our volunteers signed up by the end of September and to use October as the volunteer training period.

The first step for all volunteers is to fill out an application and complete all necessary background and reference checks. To complete the application please go to the Girl Scouts of Colorado website. In the application blank “List any specialized skills/work or volunteer experience/talents/interests” please write “STEM Special Interest Group.” This will help flag the applications for our collaborative.

Macy's Community Shopping Day - Outreach Table
Volunteers are needed to help SWE-RMS run a hands-on activities table inside the Park Meadows Macy's on Saturday, November 12th to excite young girls and boys about math, science and engineering! If interested, please email Jessica Begay.

FIRST Lego League (FLL)
FIRST Lego League needs your help!!! FLL is expecting a record turnout for teams in northern Colorado and is planning three Fort Collins events this year!

UCCS SWE Day
