We set dates and put together a proposed schedule for the rest of the fiscal year:
- Jan 16 2010: Color Me mine or collegiate outreach (Leslie will spearhead )
- Feb 12: EWeek banquet with UEC at Clarke Planetarium. Collegiate sections will be invited
- Mar 2010: Red Butte
- Apr 2010: Mark Miller Subaru (green building conversion)
- May 2010: tbd
- Jun 2010: tbd
We decided to plan a Winter social for Sat Dec 12 2009. Activity will be snoeshoeing / hiking in Millcreek Canyon followed by lunch at Rocky Mountain Pizza. Meet at 10 am. Lunch at 2 pm. Invite collegiate sections to participate.
Expanding Your Horizons (Marilyn) :
- The event was well attended. More than 600 girls signed up for workshops. Marilyn ran a workshop for Recycled paper greeting Cards.
Region B Action Items:
- IRS E-File for B009 ( Chiao-ih )
- Discuss Vote on Region Excellence Funding Award ( Nadine ) - We agreed on a "yes" vote for this motion. View details here
- Discuss Vote on Regional Procedure Document ( Nadine ) - we agreed to vote "yes" on these motions. Motions covered procedures used by Region B leadership for travel funding, council meetings and elections. To view details, please email gslswe@yahoo.com
Idaho SWE event (Leslie)
Leslie reported on an event she attended with the Idaho section (Region J). It was a joint event held at a microbrewery and well attended. She suggested that we consider this format to boost attendance for our local events.
UEC Nominations
No names came up for nominations in the meeting. The deadline for submitting a nomination is rapidly approaching, so we decided to not pursue it this year.
Next Meeting:
We will have a brief business meeting after the Dec social on Dec 12 2009
Tentative agenda:
- Region B conference (Phoenix)
- 60th Anniversary of SWE is in May 2010. Do we want to plan something?
