Camps

Thursday and Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm

Fee: $35.00 per child per day (1st - 9th graders)

$15.00 per child per day for lunch and snacks (High School Students)

Each camp is led by an experienced teacher assisted by several volunteers and overseen by the Camp Coordinator. The camp agenda includes a chaperoned field trip to the Arizona Science Center and an astronomy program provided by the Arizona Science Center staff. High school students will serve as mentors.

For 1st – 3rd graders: Crazy Chemistry!

What youngster wouldn’t be intrigued by the idea of becoming a Cabbage Patch Detective? Working in groups, campers will discover chemistry in a bag, find out why ‘things’ float in a mystery liquid but not in water, turn water into grape Kool-Aid‚ figure out what an indicator is and how it is used and much more. Lunch and morning and afternoon snacks included.

For 4th – 6th graders: On the Move!

Campers will discover why wheelbarrows lighten the load, what makes helicopters and airplanes stay in the air and more. The focus is on exploring how things move on land and in the air. They will use various kinds of energy and tools and examine Newton’s Laws. Lunch and morning and afternoon snacks included.

For 7th – 9th graders: Build It!

Campers will spend one day learning about designing and building various structures. What is the strongest, most stable shape to use? How are buildings built "earthquake proof"? On the second day, campers will design a building to meet certain criteria, buy materials with ‘money’ provided, construct a building and test whether it meets the design criteria. Lunch and morning and afternoon snacks
included.

High School Students: Magic Mentors!

High schoolers who participate will learn through teaching! What better way to develop self-confidence, reinforce your education and develop your leadership skills. High school students are excellent role models for younger students.

Saturday, 8:00am – 5:00pm

Fee: $50.00 per child per day

Fun activities are planned! We’ll amuse your children with a field trip to a bowling alley, sports theme park, the zoo or the theater. We will have something fun in store! Lunch and morning and afternoon snacks are included.
