SURVIVAL in CHAOTIC TIMES

Wednesday, 3:00pm – 5:00pm

Moderator: Bridget Moorman

Life is changing at a much faster pace and adaptation to the chaos that ensues can be challenging. An assemblage of executives from various companies and industries will discuss how they and their companies have adjusted to, survived and even thrived in these chaotic times. The juxtaposition of the different industries should make for interesting comparison and contrast as well as cross-fertilization of ideas.

Ms. Cynthia Lake - Hewlett Packard Medical Products Group

Ms. Melody Boone Meyer - Manager Business Development and Planning, Chevron North America Exploration and Production

Ms. Deborah Griner - Deputy Center Director, NASA Marshall Space Flight Center

YEAR 2000 IMPACT

Thursday, 3:00pm – 5:00pm

Moderator: Lisa Clifton

On January 1, 2000, what will happen to the computers and systems we depend on? Will life go on as normal, or should you be preparing for the worst? Experts working to resolve Year 2000 computer problems in various organizations will describe the Y2K Millennium Bug, the current status of efforts to fix the problem, contingency plans, the potential impact on the different aspects of society if the bug is not fixed in time and what the public can do now to prepare for any Year 2000 issues and problems.

Confirmed Panelists:

Mr. John Kelly – Director, Arizona Government Information Technology Agency

Ms. Therese Price – Vice President of Research and Development, Arizona Federal Credit Union

TODAY, TOMORROW and the NEW MILLENNIUM – On the Edge of Disaster?

Friday, 3:00pm – 5:00pm

Moderator: Caroline VanIngen-Dunn

Yes! Only if we don’t prepare ourselves. Every organization that exists today, even your local grocery store, faces an uphill battle to obtain the level of intelligence needed to remain competitive. Systems are becoming more sophisticated, the level of detail is getting more minute, and competition is getting more cutthroat. If you or your company don’t keep up, then you will be left out of the ball game. Our panelists will describe the technical hurdles that we are all facing, how you and your businesses can partner with schools to help bridge the gap, and the level of education and engineering that is required to prepare students for the workplace.

Confirmed Panelists:

Mr. Bill Nanney – Group Vice President, QIS, MicroAge, Inc.

Ms. Bertha Landrum – Director of Business and Workforce Development at Maricopa Community Colleges

Dr. Mary Anderson-Roland – Associate to the Dean, College of Engineering, Arizona State University

ON THE EDGE of SHATTERING GLASS

Saturday, 3:00pm – 5:00pm

Panelists from a variety of backgrounds will discuss their "stories of success." These women will discuss how they reached their current positions, the reasons why they were successful, and the obstacles they faced. While most panels with this topic only include technical women, this panel will include women from different backgrounds. Learn from the experiences of these women and apply what they have discovered to your own career.

Confirmed Panelists:

Ms. Gail Yates – President, Central Arizona Junior Achievement

Ms. Angela Conwell – Business Director Neuro/Ventures Operations, Medtronic Micro-Rel
