All session topics and events listed are subject to change and availability.

Payment
Complete payment must accompany all registration forms (US funds only). Payment by check or credit card is acceptable.

Acknowledgment
You should receive written acknowledgment of registration within four weeks. Please check it carefully to make sure it is correct. Your official packet with tickets and badge will be available on site.

Cancellations and Refunds
Refunds will be issued for written cancellations received by the Convention Registration Office and postmarked no later than May 25, 1998. Telephone cancellations will not be accepted. Refunds for cancellations will be limited to registration fees only. Ticketed events (including tours, seminars, and special events) are non-refundable unless SWE cancels the events, and refunds will be granted only to the original ticket holder (no refunds will be granted to holders of transferred tickets).

Refunds will not be issued on site. Refunds will be issued by check or credit-card credit no later than 45 days after the Convention. To obtain a refund for your ticket to a cancelled event, send the ticket with your registration material or other proof of purchase to the SWE '98 Convention Office. In the event SWE finds it necessary to cancel the 1998 National Convention & Student Conference for any reason, its liability shall be limited to a full refund of the registration fee and convention event tickets only.

Ticket Exchange and Resale
If it is necessary to change a seminar or other event for which you purchased a ticket, we will notify you. Alternative programs and activities may be available (see on-site ticket purchases). We will provide space at the Registration Desk where you may advertise tickets for exchange or resale (you are responsible for arrangements and transactions).

On-Site Ticket Purchase
All ticketed events are filled on a first-come first-served basis. Tickets for some events available for purchase on-site. Please note: there may be a surcharge (not greater than $5) added to on-site tickets.

On-Site Registration Location and Hours
SWE Concierge will be located at the Hyatt Regency on Monday evening and Saturday, and at the George R. Brown Convention Center (GRBCC) on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The Registration Desk will operate in accordance with the following schedule:
Monday (Hyatt) 6:00pm-9:00pm
Tuesday (GRBCC) 7:00am-7:00pm
Wednesday (GRBCC) 7:00am-7:00pm
Thursday (GRBCC) 7:00am-7:00pm
Friday (GRBCC) 7:00am-5:00pm
Saturday (Hyatt) 7:30am-1:00pm

Children
Children 12 and older may register as guests (see next item) and may purchase student tickets to attend ticketed events. Children under 12 do not need to register as guests. Limited seating may be available (but is not guaranteed) with advance purchase for children under 12 at all Convention events. For safety reasons, there may be special requirements for children on technical and sightseeing tours. Please check individual tour descriptions.

Guests
Spouses and other guests of participants are invited to attend the Convention for a guest registration fee of $55. Children under 12 are free. We respectfully request that this special registration rate be reserved for guests who are not participating in the Convention programming. NOTE: Each guest 18 and over must purchase a non-student ticket to attend any ticketed event. Also, please submit a separate registration form for each guest.

Special Accommodations
Any participants needing special accommodations due to a disability should check the appropriate box on the registration form and attach a written description. Our ability to accommodate your needs depends on the information you provide.

If you have special meal requirements, please check the box on the registration form and explain your requirements in the space provided. NOTE: We may not be able to accommodate special meal requirements at receptions or for meals purchased on-site.

Deadlines
It pays to register early! Participants returning completed registration forms postmarked by April 25 will receive the lowest rates. Registration forms postmarked between April 25 and May 25 will be charged intermediate fees. All registrations postmarked May 26 or later will be charged in accordance with the on-site fee schedule. We cannot guarantee availability of events to late registrants. Events are filled on a first-come first-serve basis. CES courses filled particularly early last year. Additional sessions may be added if early registration warrants. NOTE: Option 2 is NOT available after May 25.
