Due to the large geographical area of the Northeastern Ohio SWE professional section, small group dinner gatherings at various local restaurants have been initiated to increase member interaction and better accommodate work/life balance time commitments. This is an excellent atmosphere for networking and allows for open discussions … it is also a great time and a nice break after work.

Saturday, June 19, 2010 [ link to Flyer ] Register now for ASEE's workshop, “Discovering Engineering in the Classroom,” and learn fun ways to get students excited about math and science. This energizing, highly informative event will introduce you to innovative, effective engineering education lessons, best practices, and take-away tools. Kentucky teachers who participate will be eligible for continuing professional education credits. Out-of-state teachers will get a certificate to use in seeking credits through their own state authorities.

44th Annual Conference and Exhibition of the National Association of Regional Councils
June 15-17, 2010 [ link to Flyer ] The 44th Annual Conference and Exhibition of the National Association of Regional Councils (NARC) will be held June 15-17, 2010, in Cleveland. The city of Cleveland and the Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency (NOACA) are hosting the conference, which is expected to attract more than 500 representatives from cities, counties, metropolitan planning organizations, councils of government, regional planning commissions, and economic development councils throughout the United States.
This conference is the largest national event focused on promoting effective regional cooperation, collaboration and solutions. Topics include transportation and environmental issues, sustainability, and economic and community development, among others. NOACA will also hold its annual Summit luncheon on Tuesday, June 15, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. as part of the conference.
