As we have done in the past, we will be hosting Regional Networking dinners approximately once a month. The Regions are Northwest Cleveland (Virginia Brandt), Northeast Cleveland (still seeking someone to plan these) and Akron/Canton (Bethann O'Malley).
Keep an eye on your email for information on the following
- 'Tis the season! We are getting more & more requests for "Shadow Day, " senior projects, design projects, and other school projects from high school students and their parents. If you would like a professional member of the NE Ohio chapter of SWE to work with you (or your high school student), please contact us by email. We will need your name & location, exact type of project you need assistance with, the type(s) of engineers you would like to work with, daytime contact information, and the deadline for your project. Our Outreach Coordinator will send out an email to the membership and work with you to make the initial contact.
Members: Keep an eye on your email for these continuing outreach opportunities! Let the Outreach coordinator(s) know you can help as soon as possible.

Westside Networking Event!
Due to the large geographical area of the Northeast Ohio Society of Women Engineers (SWE) 
professional section, small group meetings have been initiated to increase member interaction and involvement. Based on the success of the Akron/Canton networking dinners, we are now launching a similar monthly meeting in the Cleveland area. If you interested in attending future gatherings, please let us know so that you can be added to our Cleveland Area Networking distribution list. We hope to see you soon!
Update: We missed you at the July 2010 meeting! You can see that we did some serious damage to very delicious food. Interested yet? Let us know!
Akron/Canton Monthly Dinners
Due to the large geographical area of the Northeast Ohio Society of Women Engineers (SWE) professional section, small group meetings have been initiated to increase member interaction and involvement. Since August 2007, professionals from the Akron/Canton area have been gathering for dinner once a month at various local restaurants. This is an excellent atmosphere for small group networking and allows for open discussions… it is also a great time and a nice break after work just to hang out! If you are interested in joining the Akron/Canton monthly dinners, please contact Lisa Rimpf (Lisa.Rimpf@swe.org).

Are you a licensed engineer and/or surveyor?
Your SWE chapter is looking at presenting short workshops that can be used to fulfill professional development hours (PDHs) that are now required by the state of Ohio.
It’s your turn to help with some information. Please email us at NEOHIO_SWE_WEB@hotmail.com with answers to the following:
- Is this something you would be interested in and would attend?
- We are considering two locations for this event: one in the southern part or our region (Akron/Canton) and one in the northern part (perhaps downtown Cleveland). Which is better for you? How far would you travel to attend this event?
- What topics would you like to see addressed?
- What type of forums would you prefer (discussion, more like a classroom, role-playing, other)?
- What speakers can you suggest for your topic(s)? Keep in mind that national speakers tend to charge for their time — that will affect what you pay for the seminar.
- What times are good for you (breakfast meetings, all day on a week day, all day on a weekend, evenings (6-8, 6-9, 7-10, ?), other)?
