Society
of Women Engineers Mid-Hudson Section is 20 years old. Join the
celebration!

It is April
1991. Four female engineers huddle together outside a restaurant for
nearly an hour, all energized from hearing Marge Inden speak about how
programs that support women in engineering are successful in attracting
and retaining women to the profession. They lament, “Why
don’t we have more things like this?” The idea of
forming a “Mid Hudson” section of the Society of Women
Engineers is born. From that balmy April night and those first four
founders, the section ballooned to more than 100 members and is now
celebrating its 20th anniversary.
Join us for a gala event and a walk back in time to celebrate those 20
years on April 2, 2011. Florence Hudson, IBM Energy and Environmental
Executive and the first IBM-Loaned Executive to SWE, will speak on
“SWE Pioneers: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow”.
Florence’s presentation will be followed by a panel discussion
with some of the section founders as we look both backward and
forward.
Don’t miss out. Whether you are a current or past member, a
spouse or significant other, an engineering student, an educator, or
just someone who wants to help us celebrate, reserve your place now.
