Seven SWE Hartford Professionals and eighteen Smith College students met for a culturally-infused dinner at Zen Restaurant in Northampton, MA. This event offered the collegiate students the informal opportunity to ask questions about graduate school, paying off student loans, working in large industry versus small companies and work-life balance. Dessert and a discussion about the benefits of professional membership in SWE concluded the night. This well-attended event was a testament to the relationship that SWE Hartford members initiated with Smith College 5 years ago. It is our goal to promote interaction such as this with all of our collegiate SWE sections in the area.
