Leadership Coaching: SWE Officer Training Presentation Description: How can you keep your SWE Section in good standing? This module will help introduce new officers or aspiring officers to
the roles and responsibilities of the SWE officer positions. It includes necessary report information,
as well as resources for section officers at both the regional and national
level. About the Speakers Jennifer Thomas and Karen Johnson are the SWE Collegiate Leadership
Coaches for Region F. Jennifer Thomas, originally
from Miami, Fl, graduated with a BS in Aerospace Engineering from the
University of Central Florida in May of 2006. At UCF, she joined SWE in 2001
and served as SWE President for two years. Upon graduation, she accepted a
position in the Engineering Development Program at Pratt & Whitney.
At Pratt & Whitney, Jennifer has worked in Compression System
Aerodynamics, Test Engineering, Engine Systems Operability, and Turbine
Durability. Jennifer has been a Collegiate Leadership Coach for the past 4 years
and has also served on the local level as Secretary and Section
Representative for SWE-Hartford. In her free time she loves dancing,
traveling, volunteering and trying new restaurants. Karen graduated from Drexel University in 2006 with a Bachelors and
Masters in Mechanical Engineer. While a student at Drexel, Karen was
her collegiate section's Webmistress, President and Vice President. Karen Johnson currently
works for The Charles Stark Draper Laboratory in Cambridge, Ma where she is a
member of the technical staff. Karen is a member of the Collegiate
Leadership Coaching Committee (CLCC) and is an active member of SWE Boston,
serving as the Collegiate Section Liaison and the Professional Development
Co-Chair. In her free time, Karen enjoys cooking and spending time with
friends and family. |
