The SWE Smoky Mountain Section is very involved in our community. The following projects is currently planned for FY 2007-2008:

• UT Knoxville and Tennessee Technological University Joint Activities
• Shared Adventures in Engineering and Science (SHADES) Program
• Partnering with Girl Scouts of the Tanasi Council in the "Girls Go Tech" initiative, "Intel Fair Play" project, and the "Build a Better Future" interest patch workshop
• Partnering with Girls, Inc. in the Thinking SMART National project
• Participating in the FIRST Lego League program
• Family, Social, and Networking Activities
• Joint Meetings with Other Technical Societies
• Christmas Toy Programs
• Presentations to Local Schools (K-12)
• Judging of Science, Engineering, and Career Fairs
