    Welcome to the Smoky Mountain Section of the Society of Women Engineers Website. Our SWE section is a networking group with 35 members in technical fields from a variety of companies in the East Tennessee region. Our mission is to inform the community of opportunities open to women in engineering and to encourage women to enter and grow in engineering and the sciences.

    April Announcement

    The SWE Smoky Mountain Section plans to sponsor three special awards at the Southern Appalachian Science and Engineering Fair (SASEF) this year. We are currently seeking for SWE members and supporters to volunteer as judges on April 7th, and to handout our SWE special awards on the award night, April 9th.

    All events will be held at the Thompson Boling Arena Floor. A copy of this announcement suitable for posting, the judging application and the judging guidelines are provided with this email for your use. The events’ schedules will be as follows:

    • Tuesday, April 7 - "Judgment Day" to be held from 12:30 PM to 6:00 PM. Lead Judges meet from 6:00 PM to 9:00PM to choose final winners. Dinner will be provided.

    • Thursday, April 9 - Awards Ceremony and Social from 5:30 to 7 PM. All judges are invited to this event.
