List SWE leadership positions you have held and describe your contributions. (Include section, regional and national leadership positions:
I started as the academic committee chair for my section. I organized advising receptions and maintained our test bank. I am currently the secretary of my section. I completely revamped our website, implemented weekly e-newsletters, and manage our mailing list. I am also the Region C webmistress; I maintain the Region C website and ensure it has the most up-to-date information.

List other leadership positions you have held and describe your contributions:
In summer of 2009, I was one of two on-site coordinators for LeaderShape-Texas, an intense leadership retreat program. Essentially, I helped run the entire program, working constantly in the background to keep things running smoothly and providing encouragement/inspiration to participants. In fall 2009, I was the webmaster of our EXPO career fair committee. I updated all information for both companies and students, and maintained the registration services. I am currently the webmaster for Texas Ballroom; I maintain the website and other internet outlets. As an officer of the club, I help in any other area (publicity and administrative duties), including giving dance lessons to new students when asked.

What would you bring to the position of RCR, RCNE or RCS?
I have so much experience in website management, website designing, blogging, e-newsletter communications, and general internet savvy. For example, I have been blogging since 7th grade--original self-made blogs, not LiveJournals or other similar journal services. I feel this background makes me highly qualified to be the RCCE. I also have a lot of experience within SWE, even at the regional level, so I understand what my position would entail. Also, I bring my passion for SWE and my desire to improve regional communications to the RCCE position.

Why do you want to be an RCR/RCCE/RCS?
I want to continue to be involved with SWE at the region level. At the regional and national conferences, I have met some amazing and brilliant women engineers, and I'd like to continue to work and interact with them towards the SWE goals. I also want to be RCCE simply because I feel I have so much to bring to the position.

What does SWE mean to you?
SWE has given me a niche where I can grow professionally and personally. It's an organization that gives you such a strong network of passionate individuals. I have learned a lot from SWE, both in leadership and in career development. Essentially, SWE is a community of intelligent and ambitious people striving to give women the best opportunities within engineering, and it means a lot to me to be a part of it.

How many SWE conferences have you attended?
Region – 2 / Annual - 1

What are your interests outside of SWE?
I absolutely love dancing. I am learning ballroom dancing, some forms of country dancing, and I'm open to any other kind (blues, for example). I am very passionate about my major (biomedical engineering), particularly the materials and drug delivery fields. I love website/image designing, of course. I'm a flutist and the occasional pianist. I love to travel, try new things (especially new food), and cook.
