Professional Development

Engineers Leading Change, the theme of the 2004 SWE National Conference, highlights the life-changing contributions engineers make to society and the industry-changing impact women engineers have on the profession. The conference's professional development program is designed to prepare all women engineers - from students to the most seasoned professionals - to be leaders and contributors.

Dr. Caroline Kovac, General Manager, IBM Life Sciences, initiates the discussion on leading change in her keynote address, Driving Change - Pioneering Emerging Technologies and Building New Businesses.

A compelling set of workshops and seminars continue the professional development program. Organized into three tracks - Education, Personal Growth, and Technology - the conference offers the best in professional development. Although open to all participants, some sessions are of special interest to a student planning her/his transition to permanent internship positions. From finding a job in industry, government, or academia or being prepared for success when you begin that job, these Especially for Students sessions will give you the approaches and information you won't find anywhere else.

Practicing engineers looking to fulfill continuing development requirements will find SWE's popular Career Enhancement Series offers a unique mix of programs that fit your needs.
